Enhancing Melon Export Opportunities to Gulf Countries (VM25003)

Project summary 

This project will focus on building export readiness for Australian melon growers by strengthening market knowledge and forging commercial connections in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Funded by Hort Innovation through the melon research and development levy and contributions from the Australian Government, the initiative aims to position Australian melons as a premium choice in international markets and support long-term industry growth. 

Led by Export Connect, the project will deliver practical activities including supermarket tours, buyer meetings at Gulfood, and a comprehensive market insights report detailing competitors, pricing, and potential customers. These outcomes will help growers make informed business decisions, expand brand visibility in priority markets, and secure opportunities that drive export volumes, ultimately enhancing the global competitiveness of Australia’s melon industry.
